February 5, 2024 – The third edition of the global NGIN Ambassadors program is about to take off with the platform launching its 2024 Call for Applications today. Young leaders in agriculture from across the globe and representing all different agricultural realities are called to submit their applications if they meet the following selection criteria:

  • Between 18 and 29 years old
    • English proficiency at B2 level or above
    • Passion and track record for advocacy in agriculture
    • Availability to travel internationally.
    • Keen interest in public speaking and communications

Applications can be submitted here up until February 23, 2024, at 23.59 hours CET.

A jury of NGIN Board members and earlier NGIN Ambassadors cohorts will make the selection of the 2024 cohort based on clearly communicated criteria. All selectees via the Open Call will be required to attend the NGIN Flagship program taking place in June 2024. Visa, flights, ground transportation, accommodation, and board are fully funded. Terms and Conditions apply. All selectees will be required to commit to co-creation and joint rules of conduct enabling constructive, proactive, and progressive results from the collaboration.

NGIN is the first global platform including all relevant stakeholders across the agricultural system and most importantly the voice and ideas of youth in global advocacy spaces. It has the objective of building pathways for young people’s full participation in agriculture and the sustainable, science-based transformation of the agricultural and food system for better livelihoods, better production, better environment, and better solutions for the future of people and the planet.

“Our NGIN Ambassadors represent the world’s finest young leaders in agriculture.”, says NGIN Co-Chair Sophie Nabuliri of Generation Africa. “Working with them – my peers – throughout our engagements will lead to concrete impact outputs such as produced in 2022 with the Ambassadors’ Manifesto and in 2023 with the Ambassadors’ Call to Action. And these are just two globally aligned positioning papers that guide our young leaders’ engagements for better policies enabling a future in which the next generation has a say in decision processes towards better agricultural and food systems.”, adds Ebunoluwa Ajobiewe of the Youth Alliance for Zero Hunger and NGIN Co-Chair.

In 2024, NGIN will continue its success story with the third edition of the NGIN Flagship Program – the in-person co-creation & experience event of all 2024 Ambassadors and NGIN partners –, the third official participation in the World Food Forum, leadership capacitation, mentor-matching, NGIN Talks, and more engagements to be announced. The NGIN Ambassadors are at the core of NGIN’s drive towards youth participation in agriculture and they exercise their impact powers through global advocacy and impactful projects. They are influential leaders who serve as role models to their peers in their communities and they are an inspiration to the entire agrifood sector addressing some of the most crucial global challenges.

In the first two years of its programs, NGIN has co-created with 45 highly diverse young leaders from almost as many countries representing six continents. They are farmers and agri-preneurs, researchers and academics, economists, communicators, and influencers. In their diversity, the Ambassadors find great sources of reciprocal inspiration that take them further individually and boost their collective impact potential.

NGIN is a multistakeholder impact alliance counting among its Board members Bayer, GCSAYN, Generation Africa, I4NATURE, IAAS, IFAMA Young Board, IICA, Nuffield International, UN SDSN, and Youth Alliance for Zero Hunger. NGIN furthermore partners with ELFIN, Industry Disruptors, Thought for Food, WIKIFARMER, and the World Food Forum.
