Forum within the framework of the International Day of Rural Women: Young rural women of the Americas transforming agri-food systems
The objective of this forum was to make visible the contribution of rural women to agri-food systems, and the need for agendas aimed at achieving gender equality through the design and implementation of specific public policies, which focus on one of the intersectionalities of gender such as age.
For this reason, the importance of creating spaces for dialogue that allow the formation of networks for the search for specific solutions that eliminate the gender and age gaps, and that enhance the capacities of young women, was highlighted. In this same sense, the need to understand the contexts and dimensions of the diversity of young women in different fields was highlighted, as one of the most important actions to address the main existing challenges and problems.
